About me

My name is Claire Stoeckinger, and I am a senior studying mass communications and business at the University of South Carolina. I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, in a house of five, including my parents and my two older sisters. I attended Upper Arlington Highschool where I enjoyed learning and being a part of the tight-knit community. I came to college unaware of what I intended to study. I started as undecided, became a psychology major, made my way back to undecided, and then was torn between advertising and public relations, so I ended up in mass communications; however, my business minor is intended to help me in the future with my interest in marketing.

I hope to build a career in marketing where I can use creativity and communication to connect with people and various brands. As a mass communications major and a business minor, I enjoy understanding other people and their behaviors, and I would like to use that to create stories across multiple media platforms and draw in engagement. I’m still deciding what I’d like to do, but I have sparked an interest in working with campaigns through social media, branding, or digital marketing to make a positive impact.

My ePortfolio will contain artifacts that highlight my skills and interests in marketing and communication. One of the artifacts I am highlighting in my ePortfolio is a flyer I created for Thrive Companies to promote their “Thrive Card,” which was created for all residents. This flyer demonstrates my ability to bring targeted visuals to life and to promote a company through brand identity. I included essential information, with a clear message and a thoughtful layout to appeal to other businesses.

Looking ahead, I would like to build a career in marketing that will allow me to use creative strategies and bring various ideas to life. I enjoy the way storytelling and data can shape how people connect with different brands and one another. I am interested in digital marketing, social media strategy, and brand development, which all keep me wanting to learn and grow in this field. My ePortfolio reflects the steps I’ve taken so far in my career and the direction I hope to keep moving in.
